Steyn City’s mandate in developing its inland water attraction was to select the finest in outdoor building materials to add to the estate’s overall luxury appeal. Eva-Last composite building products used in and around the Steyn City lagoon met all specifications for providing a long-lasting quality aesthetic.
AESTHETIC VALUE THE KEY DIFFERENTIATOR
Eva-last products have been selected by residential property owners throughout the estate, reinforcing Steyn City’s architectural and aesthetic character. According to Steyn City architects, the choice of Eva-last products was due to their versatility of application and extensive color range with the most natural timber look. The quality and durability of Eva-last’s products will ensure a consistent look and feel for decades to come – benefits include UV resistance, water resistance, and slip resistance, all of which are ideal for the Steyn City lagoon application.LASTING DURABILITY ESSENTIAL
The lagoon’s anticipated level of popularity and 24/7 use drove the selection of materials with high performance, longevity, and low maintenance requirements. Infinity I-Series deck boards were selected for the arched bridge over the lagoon; featuring a resilient capping material that is fade, stain, and scratch resistant, it was the perfect choice for the high level of expected foot traffic. A focal point of the development is the building housing the restaurant, bathrooms, and equipment hire with a shaded seating area. VistaClad was used as cladding on the face of the kiosk structure, while Ultraspan beams were the product of choice to construct the architectural showpiece pergola. The use of Ultraspan for the pergola showcases the superior design versatility of this composite material while ensuring structural integrity that is highly durable and resistant to weather conditions.KEY INFLUENCER QUOTE
