The lagoon’s anticipated level of popularity and 24/7 use drove the selection of materials with high performance, longevity, and low maintenance requirements. Infinity I-Series deck boards were selected for the arched bridge over the lagoon; featuring a resilient capping material that is fade, stain, and scratch resistant, it was the perfect choice for the high level of expected foot traffic. A focal point of the development is the building housing the restaurant, bathrooms, and equipment hire with a shaded seating area. VistaClad was used as cladding on the face of the kiosk structure, while Ultraspan beams were the product of choice to construct the architectural showpiece pergola. The use of Ultraspan for the pergola showcases the superior design versatility of this composite material while ensuring structural integrity that is highly durable and resistant to weather conditions.
